Subsidies for Residential Consumers

The government is offering substantial subsidies to encourage domestic households to adopt solar power:
– **1 KW System:** Get a subsidy of ₹30,000.
– **2 KW System:** Receive a subsidy of ₹60,000.
– **3 KW System or More:** The subsidy can go up to ₹78,000.
For housing societies and Resident Welfare Organizations (RWOs), there’s an additional subsidy of up to ₹90 lakh, or ₹18,000 per KW, with a maximum limit of 500 KW. The subsidy amount is directly transferred to your bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
 

Loan Availability and Benefits

Banks are also offering loans at reduced interest rates for installing solar power systems, making it easier for homeowners to make the switch. Given that the power generation capacity of these rooftop systems can last for up to 25 years, this is a long-term investment that pays off significantly over time.

How to Apply for the Rooftop Solar Scheme

Applying for the rooftop solar scheme is straightforward:
1. Register Online:  Use your customer number, mobile number, and email ID on the official website [PM Suryaghar](https://www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in/).
2 Choose Your System Size: Pay any outstanding registration fees and select your desired system size. Automatic approval is granted for capacities up to 10 KW.
3. Select a Supplier: Choose from a list of approved suppliers available on the portal. These suppliers will also maintain your solar net meter free of charge for five years.
4. Commissioning and Subsidy Transfer:  Once your solar system is installed, submit the commissioning report and bank details. The subsidy amount will be credited to your account within 30 days.
